Cannabis Module: Epilepsy and Movement Disorders
2.0 hour online/home study education module
Over the past several years, there has been a growing interest in using medicinal cannabis to treat certain neurological conditions. Much debate has occurred over which cannabinoids may provide evidence-based or anecdotal relief for a variety of symptoms. In this module we will explore available literature and investigate real-world clinical use in epilepsy and movement disorders.
Learning Objectives
At the completion of this course, participants will be able to:
- Evaluate the evidence for cannabis use in patients with different types of epilepsy.
- Examine use and challenges of Epidiolex use in patients with epilepsy.
- Describe the evidence available for using cannabis in patients with movement disorders.
- Identify the potential future role for cannabis use in epilepsy and movement disorders.
