The Clinical Interview and Mental Health Considerations
2.0 hour online/home study education module
This module provides some experiential information on evaluating patients who are using cannabis or are interested in using cannabis and focuses on mental health conditions. Literature discussing safety and efficacy of more common mental health conditions is discussed and a clinical interpretation is provided. This information is relevant for all health professionals who interact with patients with mental health conditions in any capacity. It aims to inform the health professional regarding safety and efficacy of cannabis with notes on clinical application of this knowledge with a risk reductive strategy and goal of improved health outcomes.
Learning Objectives
At the completion of this module participants will be able to:
- Integrate quantification method in to the clinical cannabis interview
- Identify cannabis use disorder and withdrawal
- Discuss efficacy of cannabis in select mental health conditions
- Interpret clinically relevant safety concerns for the mental health population
- Apply general risk reduction strategies to a clinical case
